Comments & Activity

Comments and activity tracking enable collaboration throughout the assessment lifecycle. Discuss findings, track changes, and maintain a clear audit trail.

Add comments on:

  • Findings
  • Projects
  • Assets
  • Reports
  1. Open the item (finding, project, etc.)
  2. Scroll to Comments section
  3. Type your comment
  4. Click Post or press Enter

Markdown Support

  • Bold, italic, code
  • Lists and links
  • Code blocks

@Mentions

  • Type @ followed by username
  • User receives notification
  • Creates link to profile

Attachments

  • Click attachment icon
  • Upload images or files
  • Files linked in comment
  1. Find your comment
  2. Click Edit (pencil icon)
  3. Modify text
  4. Save changes

Note: “Edited” indicator appears.

  1. Find your comment
  2. Click Delete (trash icon)
  3. Confirm deletion

Admins can delete any comment.

Reply to specific comments:

  1. Click Reply on a comment
  2. Thread opens below original
  3. Add your reply
  4. Threaded discussion continues
  • Keep conversations organized
  • Focus on specific topics
  • Reduce notification noise
  • Easy to follow history

Long threads can be collapsed:

  • Click Collapse thread
  • Shows reply count
  • Click to expand

View all project activity:

  1. Open project
  2. Go to Activity tab
  3. See chronological history

Filter by:

  • Activity type
  • User
  • Date range
  • Related item

Each finding tracks:

  • Creation and updates
  • Status changes
  • Comment activity
  • Evidence additions
  • Assignment changes

You receive notifications for:

  • @mentions in comments
  • Replies to your comments
  • Assignment to project/finding
  • Status changes you’re watching

Configure in SettingsNotifications:

  • Email notifications
  • In-app notifications
  • Notification frequency
  • Quiet hours

Watch specific items for all activity:

  1. Open item (project, finding)
  2. Click Watch (eye icon)
  3. Receive all activity notifications
  1. Click Watching dropdown
  2. Select Stop watching

Type @ to mention:

  • @john - Specific user
  • @team - All project team
  • @client - Client portal users

After typing @:

  • User list appears
  • Filter by typing name
  • Select with arrow keys
  • Press Enter or click

Mentioned users receive:

  • In-app notification
  • Email notification (if enabled)
  • Badge on chat/notification icon

Activity tracking provides:

  • Who did what, when
  • Full change history
  • Non-repudiation
  • Compliance evidence

Export activity logs:

  1. Go to Activity tab
  2. Click Export
  3. Choose format (CSV, JSON)
  4. Download file
  • Be clear and concise
  • Use @mentions sparingly
  • Add context to links
  • Keep discussions on-topic

Comment when:

  • Starting work on finding
  • Completing verification
  • Needing clarification
  • Handing off to colleague

When client-visible:

  • Use professional language
  • Explain technical terms
  • Be responsive
  • Document agreements
